What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is made up of four main components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. PRP is a platelet concentrated component from your own blood that contains nutrient rich cells and protein growth factors.

How is PRP prepared?

PRP is produced when a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and placed into a sterile, disposable container and then spun to separate the platelets from your blood sample, resulting in a platelet-rich plasma.

Is PRP Safe?

Almost anyone is a candidate for a PRP treatment because it comes from your own blood, therefore there is minimal risk for an allergic reaction or immune reaction. PRP preparation must be conducted by a trained medical professional. Consult your physician for more information.

What are the benefits of PRP?

  • Collagen and elastic production
  • Accelerated wound healing
  • Decrease in hyperpigmentation, sun damage and acne scarring

PRP and Skinpen®

At Denovo, we are implementing PRP as a booster to microneedling treatments. During the numbing process, we will draw a small amount of the patient’s blood and spin it in the centrifuge. We will then implement the PRP serum as a “slip” agent and while the needles are penetrating the skin, the “liquid gold” is being driven into the open channels. PRP is very soothing and healing so there will be no discomfort during the process.

Denovo Medspa soon will offer additional services that involve PRP but for now, if you would like to know more about PRP, cost or set up an appointment, please give us a call at 715.835.2285 or email info@denovomedspa.com.
